Recommendations:
Tuck requires two recommendations if you are a first time applicant and one new recommendation if you are a reapplicant. Recommendations from direct supervisors are preferred, but if you can not get one from them, then do use the optional essay to explain your choice of recommenders.

Tuck uses GMAC’s common recommendation, making the reco writing process more streamlined for the applicants and less burdensome for the recommenders. Here are the reco questions:

1. Please provide a brief description of your interaction with the applicant and, if applicable, the applicant’s role in your organization. (50 words)

2. How does the performance of the applicant compare to that of other well-qualified individuals in similar roles? (E.g. what are the applicant’s principal strengths?) (500 words)

3. Describe the most important piece of constructive feedback you have given the applicant. Please detail the circumstances and the applicant’s response. (500 words)

4. Optional: Is there anything else we should know?

Interviews:
Tuck is among the few b-schools that give every applicant a chance to interview. There are two interview formats: Guaranteed interviews are available to all applicants who submit their complete application, including LORs, by September 1, 2020

The other interview format is initiated by the adcom, when they invite you to interview, after reading your application. This could be conducted online,  or on campus.

Reapplications:
Reapplicants have to write an additional essay (300 word limit) and also submit a new recommendation, besides the completed application form:

How have you strengthened your candidacy since you last applied? Please reflect on how you have grown personally and professionally.
