Chicago Booth MBA Essays 2018 are out.  Booth has shaken up things a lot this year. Gone are the photographs essays Booth had been using for the past 3 years. Also gone is the iconic powerpoint presentation that came into being before we started MBA Decoder. This year Chicago Booth asks for a Word only essay.

Here are the application deadlines and the details:

Deadlines:

Round 1: September 27, 2018
Round 2: January 3, 2019
Round 3: April 4, 2019

Applications should be submitted by 11:59 p.m. CST on the day of the deadline.

Booth Essay Questions:
1. How will the Booth MBA help you achieve your immediate and long-term post-MBA career goals? (250 word minimum)

2. Chicago Booth immerses you in a choice-rich environment. How have your interests, leadership experiences, and other passions influenced the choices in your life? (There is no maximum length, only a 250 word minimum).

3. Optional Question: Is there any unclear information in your application that needs further explanation? (300 word maximum)

4. Re-applicant Question: Upon reflection, how has your perspective regarding your future, Chicago Booth, and/or getting an MBA changed since the time of your last application? (300 word maximum)

Other Application Components:

1. Professional resume

2. Two letters of recommendation
Atleast one reco letter should be from a direct supervisor. If you are not able to get one from your supervisor, do address this in the optional essay. The second recommendation can be from a person who has worked with you in an organization, club, or on a volunteer project.

Recommendation questions are:
a. How does the applicant’s performance, potential, background, or personal qualities compare to those of other well-qualified individuals in similar roles? Please provide specific examples.
b. Please describe the most important piece of constructive feedback you have given the applicant. Please detail the circumstances and the applicant’s response.

3. Undergrad: Unofficial (scanned) transcripts from all post-secondary educational institutions attended.  Applicants who have completed their undergrad in three years are eligible to apply.

4. GMAT or GRE Score

5. TOEFL – International applicants are exempt from TOEFL if they have earned an undergraduate degree or post-graduate degree from an institution in which English is the language of instruction.

6. $250 application fee

7. Interview: Interview are extended by invitation only. every applicant
